Wonderful Thanksgiving Stay

We stayed here with our extended family (my husband, parents and children) for the long Thanksgiving weekend. We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the rental experience. The Palmetto Vacation Rentals staff were friendly and helpful in answering our questions and staying in contact with us leading up to our stay. The condo itself was even better than we expected based on the photos. The unit was decorated tastefully and the spacious floor plan provided plenty of room for the six of us to spread out and have our own space/privacy. The living room seating allowed plenty of room for us to gather to watch the football games and spend time together. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch in the mornings and evenings--it was nice seeing the moon rising as well as the holiday lights reflecting in the pond. The kitchen was well-appointed with plenty of cookware, pots/pans, and dishes (enough to prepare our Thanksgiving feast)--the only thing we found missing was oven mitts, so we bought a set and left them. The dining area easily accommodates the table for 6 with lots of room to spare. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms had tons of closet storage in addition to dressers, which would be great for longer stays. The elevator not only made bringing our bags and luggage in and out of the condo much easier, but more importantly, it made the unit accessible to my mother who has limited mobility. The location was so convenient to Broadway at the Beach and many of the shows, attractions and restaurants we'd wanted to visit during our stay--most were within a 10 minute drive. The development seems to be a mix of permanent residents, snow birds, and short-term renters like us. Several of the residents introduced themselves, and everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The walking path around the pond was a nice place to walk off some of that Thanksgiving dinner. I could probably go on and on about all the things we enjoyed about this condo. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely plan to stay here again for future visits.

Wonderful Thanksgiving stay!
? ? ? ? ?
What a wonderful stay! The condo itself was even roomier than we expected, giving each of our extended family plenty of room to spread out. The kids enjoyed having a TV in their room (as did the adults). Tons of closet space/storage. The decor was lovely--it looks like there have been some updates since these photos were taken, especially noting the tile flooring pictured in the living/dining area is now carpeted. The kitchen was well-appointed with dishes and cookware, which was appreciated as we decided to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner in. The location was so convenient to the shows and shopping--we were only about a 10 minute drive to the Palace Theater, Medieval Times, Legends in Concert, The Pirates Voyage, Ripley's Aquarium and Broadway at the Beach . The community seems to be a good mix of short-term vacationers, snow birds and permanent residents. Neighbors were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants, shows, etc. We truly felt "at home," which made our Thanksgiving time with family so enjoyable. We will definitely plan a stay here in the future!
Nice, comfortable unit, absolutely zero amenities on site

Rci billed this as a 3 BR, sleeps 8 when there was no pullout couch so it only slept 6. Nicely furnished with comfortable living room furniture, because it wasn;t a pullout couch. If weather had been better we would not have soent so much time in the unit, which brings me full circle to the unit having no internet access (as advertised). Also there were a few scattered outdoor pools but you needed access to them, which we were not provided. Zero onsite activities or amenities, including no exercise room or equipment, no one physically on site, you have to call a management office. Since it is a privately owned condo, a lease must be signed, which leaves you in a paranoid state as to what they are going to try to charge you with (how nitpickky??), since you are already charged a cleaing fee, separately. Resort term should be used loosely for Magnolia, since it is really privately owned condos with many permanent residents.
